I always thought the NES Super Mario Bros. had some seriously awesome style goin on. Maybe it's just a nostalgia thing now, but nevertheless, I still think it's got some great aesthetics.
I did a rough sketch of this a while back, with the idea that I would redo it with vectors later, and add the aging effects and etc. I never got around to it until now. I must say, I'm very happy with the result, which is unusual for me. I do think that the fraying could be improved, and the very bottom is somewhat plain, but overall, I'm happy with it.
So tell me what you think. Comments and fav's are good stuff.

Edit: The texture was a bit too much, and too pink. I edited the texture and tweaked the colors a bit. And added some fancy-pants lines on the side.
